All jumps earn nitro boost the longer the airtime, the more boost earned. It is also possible to perform a barrel roll by driving with 1 side on a normal ramp. In addition to performing standard jumps, the player can also perform flat spins (by drifting onto a ramp) and barrel rolls (by driving off of a curved ramp). As the subtitle implies, the focus of Airborne is on jumping, with tracks featuring a lot more ramps than in previous games. The core gameplay is slightly different, however. Obtaining stars in an event is cumulative – players who finished first in an event without completing the secondary objectives may replay the race and obtain a five-star rating even if the primary objectives are not met. This is the same in Moto Blitz and Championships but you have to complete the primary objectives before unlocking the secondary objectives. Achieving secondary objectives, such as performing a given number of stunts or knocking down opponents, awards the player with two additional stars. Three stars are awarded for finishing in first place, two for second, and one for third. The five star rating system for each race, the use of primary and secondary objectives introduced in Asphalt 6: Adrenaline and also used in Asphalt 7 have all been retained in Asphalt 8. The Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 versions feature different control schemes, including the traditional WASD and the up, down, left, right keyboard scheme. Gameplay is similar to that of Asphalt 7: Heat, with the player given four control options: "Tilt to steer" (auto-acceleration with movement controlled by tilting the device), "Tilt and icons" (manual acceleration via an on-screen icon, with movement controlled by tilting the device), "On-screen controls" (auto-acceleration with movement controlled by an on-screen virtual steering-wheel), "Tap to steer" (auto-acceleration with movement controlled by tapping the side of the screen). ![]()

![]() Not only does this help foster a community of video-game-playing history buffs, but it also extends the game's re-playability. If players become bored with the vanilla game or simply want to experience the game in a different way, there is no shortage of options.Įven 10 years after the game's release, new mods and mod updates are still being released for Mount and Blade: Warband. This dedicated and extensive community of modders created diverse historical scenarios for both single-player campaigns and multiplayer servers. Each shines their own light on the game, reflecting their particular era of historical interest. The database of mods for Warband is massive, and this has a lot to do with the historical passions of the community leading to an enormous team of modders. Modder Creativity Extended the Game's LongevityĪnd we aren't just talking about a few mods here. It's far from the only example of history in the franchise, however, with mods like The Deluge, Anno Domini 1257, Bellum Imperii, and many others all becoming popular downloads that transport players to new eras of history, whether it be ancient Rome or 17th century Europe. This add-on content takes place outside of the medieval period and places players into the Napoleonic era, fighting with muskets rather than crossbows, all while dressed in period-accurate uniforms. Instead, it's an interest in history that threads through the Warband community, and this is, perhaps, exemplified most in the release of the game's Napoleonic Wars DLC. Though many Warband players may consider themselves avid gamers, it's rarely a love for gaming that brings these players together. Games like Fortnite or Rocket League may have strong, long-lasting communities, but they aren't likely to bring people together under one common passion outside of gaming. The Mount and Blade series may not be for everyone, but that's one of the things that makes it so great. Warband Brought Players Together Under a Common Interest - and It Wasn't Gaming Still, now is a time to reflect on what made Mount and Blade: Warband such a special game for a decade, and it all comes down to the game's creative and passionate community of players. ![]() It will be a long time before the number of players on the Warband servers dwindles to near zero, and as players leave, they will no doubt migrate to Bannerlord, finding new ways to enjoy the game through events, mods, and more. Why the Community Makes Mount and Blade: Warband Still Playable 10 Years Later And if there is an absence of joy to be found in Bannerlord's release, it is found only in the nostalgic sadness of turning the page onto a new chapter. It's a big moment for the Mount and Blade: Warband community, which has been waiting patiently (and sometimes impatiently) to experience the game's prequel since it was first announced in 2012. ![]() ![]() ![]() Hit Save once you’re done, rename the file, and that’s it! We now have a converted Blender file we can import into S4S! Select Mesh 0, and go back to scale, and scale the Shadow Mesh down to where it matches the Juice box. Now the only two meshes left should be SM_Juice and Studio Mesh 0. Next, delete Studio Mesh 1 by selecting it, right clicking and hitting Delete. The cut number section will be blank, type the number 1 in there. Go up to SM Juice, select it, and then go down under S4Studio CAS Tools. In this case, since we are converting the box onto Studio Mesh 1, we need to use the Number 1 for our juice box. Now remember when I was telling you to make a note of the Cut Numbers? Again, this is important because we need the correct Cut Number for our juice box or else it will not convert correctly. You can scale it to a size you think a juice object might be in the game. Then go over to the left panel and where it says Scale, scale the model up until it becomes visible. Then go up to where it says SM_Juice and select it. So, select Studio Mesh One and click the eyeball to hide it. Now, you initially won’t see the juice model because it opened up super tiny in Blender. Anyway, for this tute, we’ll use the top one (DAE). But actually, you can import any of the models in this list for conversion, and certain Blender plugins allow you to import other models formats like PSK. Our juice box is a DAE model so that is what we are going to select for this tutorial. Now we are going to Import our Sketchfab model into Blender. This will be important when we replace the base model with our own. If you look to the Right Panel, under S4Studio CAS Tools, you’ll see that the model has a Cut number of 1 and the shadow has a Cut number of 0. There’s our feng model! Some things to note are that the model has two parts, sfstudio_mesh_1, which is the model itself and sfstudio_mesh_0, which is the shadow mesh underneath. Then go up to File and open the JuiceBaseBlend file. Let’s head on over to Blender! In Blender, delete the cube. Save the mesh anywhere you want ( I have a folder called Conversions for all my Conversion projects) and let’s name it JuiceBaseBlend. Go to the Meshes Tab in S4S, and hit Export Mesh (keep the selection as LOD 0). Type feng in the Search bar at the top, select the flower pot and hit Next. We’re going to use the Feng flower pot as our base. Open up The Sims 4 Studio (S4S) and under the Object section, select Create 3D Mesh. So, we need to grab a base model from the game for our conversion. So, before we begin, open up your editing program and convert the texture into PNG format and save it.Ĭonverting means we want to take a model from the game and replace it with our own model. I noticed that the model’s texture is in JPG format which S4S does not recognize. The Sketchfab model download contains the object file, and the texture files. Grab the model from Sketchfab using the link I provided above. SketchfabTutorial Object found here ( please make note of what the Commercial use license is for any model you select, this is important if you intend to share the model, make sure it’s free to share and what credits/permissions are needed)įor this tutorial, we are going to convert this juice box model I found on Sketchfab into a deco item for the Sims 4.
